2022 The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – Beacon Lighting
Thursday evening on 2nd June 2022
| Excellent turn out on the community for the Beacon lighting on the cliff top at the Battle of Britain Memorial site. This was one of 1500 beacons lit around the United Kingdom. We started with a procession, leaving the Village Hall at 21.00 hrs escorted by the 99 (Folkestone) ATC Squadron. With torches, LED candles and handheld Union Jacks. We arrived at the Battle of Britain Memorial site around 21.30 hrs. At 21.40 hrs there was be a Bugle Call followed by the lighting of the beacon at 21.45 hrs by representatives from the village Meghan and Suresh. |
